Dr Christopher Peppler arrived at the P3 framework after researching five distinct theological models - ranging from Methodist and Calvinist to Pentecostal perspectives. He realised that many believers look for a template (do A and B to get X), but God cannot be controlled by human processes. He recalls an instance where he tried to pray for a woman’s "frozen shoulder" using every charismatic formula he knew - specific tones, oil, and "power words."

He describes the experience as feeling like a "wooden hand on a wooden head." Nothing happened until he abandoned the formulas and simply asked God to meet the woman’s actual need. The moment he stopped trying to trigger a process and focused on the person, her hand - which had been calcified and immobile for a decade - shot up "into the heaven" instantaneously.

"I tried everything I knew and I came to the end of myself... It was like a wooden hand on a wooden head. This is not process driven. This is not formulaic."

Proclamation: The Act of Step-Out Faith

Proclamation is often abused as "naming and claiming" a desired result, but Dr Peppler redefines it as the simple act of obedience. It is the bridge between receiving power and seeing change. This might mean laying a hand on a shoulder, or it might be as simple as writing a letter.

He tells the humbling story of "Christopher’s Epistles," a series of twelve long, academic letters he wrote to his unsaved sisters. While his intellectual arguments yielded a rude response from one sister and mild interest from another, the breakthrough came from a single, humble paragraph added to the bottom of a letter by his wife, Pat. It wasn't the "epistles" that worked; it was the simple, Spirit-led act of proclamation. Dr Peppler suggests a "10% rule": even if visible results don't manifest 90% of the time, the act of obedience is the primary victory. We are called to be faithful sons, not successful magicians.

The P3 framework is an invitation to move beyond "going to church" and into a mysterious, wonderful adventure with a Person. It replaces the safe, predictable routine of religious formulas with the high-stakes excitement of following the Spirit into the lives of others.
